Area Police News: May 20, 2009

Heidi N. Savery, 32, of Binghamton was arrested by state police last week Monday and charged with speeding and aggravated unlicensed operation after she was stopped on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown for allegedly driving 87 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. Savery was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. She is scheduled to reappear in Town of Middletown Justice Court on May 27.

Linda Edlinger, 47, of Margaretville was arrested by state police Thursday and charged with DWI, failure to keep right and imprudent speed following a motor vehicle accident on county Route 6 in the Town of Bovina. Police say Edlinger was taken to Margaretville Memorial Hospital for observation following the accident and was later charged following the results of a blood alcohol test. Edlinger was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Bovina Justice Court.

State police arrested Jason Gilchrist of Margaretville Friday on a warrant issued by the Town of Middletown Justice Court for failure to pay a fine. Gilchrist was arraigned, paid a $705 fine and was released.

Joshua M. Fitch, 19, of White Plains was arrested by state police Sunday and charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license after he was stopped on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown for allegedly driving 76 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. Fitch was arraigned in the Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. He was scheduled to reappear in justice court at a later date.

Shaina C. Pierre, 21, of Delhi was stopped by state police on Main Street in Delhi last week Wednesday for a traffic violation and subsequently issued a summons for driving with a suspended license. Pierre was ordered to appear in Town of Delhi Justice Court to answer the charge.

Stephen E. Moxham, 29, of DeLancey was arrested by state police Sunday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after he was involved in an altercation on Railroad Avenue in Stamford. Police issued Moxham an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on June 9.
