Area Police News: March 4, 2009

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a gray 2000 Ford F250 Supercab pickup truck bearing NY license plates 23283JC from Industrial Park Road in Walton. The truck was stolen sometime between Feb. 21 and Feb. 27. Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of this vehicle is urged to contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 607 746-2336.

A Grand Gorge woman faces a number of charges following a one-car accident Saturday on Route 23 in Harpersfield. State police say a car operated by Stacy L. Trent, 23, of Grand Gorge was eastbound when the driver lost control and the car rolled over. Following an investigation, Trent was charged with DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana and other traffic violations. Trent was transported by ambulance to A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta where she was treated for injuries to her face and leg. She was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court on March 16.

Courtney E. Rossman, 19, of Stamford was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped on Route 10 for a traffic violation. Police say they found a gas mask apparatus made for smoking marijuana along with a soda can also made for smoking marijuana in Rossman’s vehicle. Both items allegedly had burned marijuana residue and were secured as evidence. Rossman was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on March 10.

Eric R. Townsend, 41, of Unadilla was arrested last week Monday and faces several charges after he was stopped on Route 23 in Stamford for allegedly operating without taillights. State police say they charged Townsend with DWI, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana and various traffic violations. He was arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice court and released on $500 cash bail to reappear on March 24.

Peter Bello, 34, of Hancock was arrested by state police last week Monday and faces a number of charges following a personal injury motor vehicle accident. Police say they questioned Bello at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton and then charged him with DWI and several related traffic violations. He was also charged with false personation after he allegedly gave police a false name. Police say Bello was wanted by Michigan State Police. He was arraigned in Town of Walton Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail to await further court action.

Timothy J. George, 45, of Margaretville was arrested by state police last week Tuesday on Southside Road in Margaretville for an equipment violation.
Police say George was charge with driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.

Nanette C. Eignor, 37, of Halcottsville was arrested by state police Sunday and charged with DWI after she was stopped on county Route 18 in Stamford for a traffic violation. Police say they charged Eignor when her blood alcohol content allegedly tested .21 percent. Eignor was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on April 14.

Richard N. Lorette, 20, of Davenport was arrested by state police Friday on a warrant issued by the Town of Delhi Justice Court for failure to pay a fine. Lorette was arraigned in Delhi and released on $150 bail to await further court action.
