Area Police News: March 3, 2010

Jason E. Clinton, 25, of Walton faces a number of traffic charges after he was stopped Wednesday by state police on Delaware Street in Walton. Police say they charged Clinton with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, no passenger side brake light and no seat belt. Clinton was issued appearance tickets returnable in Walton Court on March 24.

Carl E. Rappold, 61, of Walton was arrested by state police Friday and charged with DWAI after he was stopped on Route 10 in Hamden for having no plate lamp. Police say they charged Rappold with DWI when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .07 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Hamden Justice Court on March 8 at 5:30 p.m.

Vincent A. Palmisano, 26, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police Friday and charged with DWI refusal after he was observed driving into the Hess gas station in Margaretville in a vehicle with no front bumper. In addition to DWI refusal, Palmisano was also charged with no front bumper, aggravated unlicensed operation and obstructed view. He was arraigned in Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail to await further court action.

Ryan M. Keilman, 23, of Delhi was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with DWAI after he was stopped on Main Street in Delhi for having an inadequate muffler. Police say they charged Keilman when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .07 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Delhi Justice Court on March 9.

Michael D. Hadden, 25, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he allegedly drove to the state police barracks in Dunraven to inquire about a friend who had been arrested earlier. Police say Hadden’s license had been suspended for failure to pay a fine. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Middletown Justice Court on March 4.

Andrew L. Schuman, 30, of Roxbury was arrested by state police on Sunday and charged with DWAI drugs after he was stopped on Route 28 in Shandaken for a traffic violation.Police say that after they stopped Schuman for having no front license plate and not wearing a seat belt he was found to be in possession of .1 grams of marijuana. Police say they detected the odor of burnt marijuana and that Schuman admitted having smoked pot.In addition to DWAI drugs he was also charged with operating with a suspended registration, unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance, improper plates, no seat belt, no front plate and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Shandaken Justice Court on March 9.

Mateo A. Villaseca, 17, of Margaretville was arrested by Shandaken Police Sunday following a one-car property damage accident on Route 28 in Big Indian.Villaseca was charged with reckless driving, DWAI drugs/alcohol, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor. He was released in the custody of his mother pending a court hearing.

Jeremy R. Schepp, 20, of Freehold was arrested by Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies on February 12 and charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped on Harper Street in Stamford.Schepp was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Stamford Justice Court.
