Area Police News: June 9, 2010

Stanley C. Finch, 38, of Arkville was arrested by state police on May 28 and charged with third-degree assault after he allegedly pushed a friend of his mother’s into a wall causing him to suffer a one-inch laceration to his eye. Police say the altercation followed a day of heavy beer drinking.
Finch was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and released pending a further court appearance. An order of protection was issued.
Janet C. Mitchell, 74, of New Kingston and her daughter, Mary A. Mitchell, 53, of Margaretville were arrested on May 26 and each charged with second-degree harassment. Police say they received a complaint from a third woman alleging that the two women were following her and her daughter around Margaretville yelling obscenities at them.
Both women were issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on June 10.
Amanda A. Cilento, 20, of Roxbury was arrested on May 27 on a bench warrant issued by the Town of Middletown Justice Court for failure to pay a fine.
Cilento was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail for 30 days or until the fine of $840 was paid.
Matthew R. Olsen, 23, of Bloomville was arrested by state police on May 30 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic accident on county Route 5 in Bovina.
Olsen was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Bovina Court on June 16.
Robert Neilson, 51, of Margaretville was arrested by state police and charged with DWAI drugs after he was stopped on Route 28 in Arkville for traffic violations.
Neilson was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court.
Mark J. Murphy, 55, of Denver was arrested by state police last Wednesday and charged with driving with a suspended license and registration after he was stopped on Route 28 in Margaretville.
Murphy was issued tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court.
Michael D. Lanza, 48, of Walton was arrested by state police Friday and charged with DWI after he was stopped by state police on county Route 2 in DeLancey.
Police say they charged Lanza when his blood alcohol content tested .14 percent. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Hamden Justice Court on June 21.
Keith W. Mott, 45, of Hobart was arrested by state police on May 29 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Route 10 in Harpersfield.
Police say they charged Mott when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .12 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court.
Nicholas J. Hanley, 21, of Big Indian was arrested by state police on May 30 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Route 30 in Roxbury for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Hanley when his blood alcohol contest allegedly tested .11 percent.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on June 21.
Benjamin M. Lane, 22, of East Meredith was arrested by state police last week Sunday and charged with aggravated DWI following an accident on county Route 5 in South Kortright.
Police say they charged Lane when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .23 percent.
Lane was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Matthew Mondore, 23, of Bovina Saturday on a criminal summons issued by the Town of Meredith Court.
Mondore is scheduled to appear before the court on June 16 at 5:30 p.m. to answer the charge of second-degree harassment.
