Area Police News: July 9, 2008

Cars operated by Lisa VanSteenburg of Margaretville and Jordan Soderback, 17, of Arkville collided last week Tuesday on Route 28 in Arkville when an eastbound Soderback turned left off Route 28 toward Church Street into the path of VanSteenburg, who was westbound. There were no injuries but Soderback was ticketed by state police for failure to yield the right of way, unlicensed operation and for driving an uninspected motor vehicle.
Arkville firemen responded to the scene for traffic control while the accident was cleared.
Bradley Grant, 17, of Pine Hill was arrested Thursday by Ulster County Sheriff’s Deputies and charged with third-degree menacing after he allegedly threatened his father with a beer bottle following a father-son domestic dispute.Grant was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail to reappear at a later date.
Anthony Marino of Stamford was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property Friday after he allegedly stole approximately $300 from a car that was parked on Main Street in Stamford.
Marino was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Stamford Justice Court.
Frederick J. Webster of Stamford was arrested by state police Saturday and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Main Street in Stamford.
Police say they charged Webster when he failed an alcohol blood test.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Village of Stamford Justice Court on July 23.
Maurice E. Hughes of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police Wednesday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol after he was questioned by state police on Main Street in Grand Gorge. Hughes was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Roxbury Justice Court on July 16.
Patricia R. Carlson of Delhi was arrested by state police Tuesday and charged with DWI following a two-car accident on Route 10 north of Delhi that sent two people to O’Connor Hospital with injuries. Police say Carlson was southbound when she crossed the center line into the northbound lane and struck a second unidentified vehicle. Police say they charged Carlson when her blood alcohol level allegedly tested .26 percent, more than three times the legal limit.
Christopher Myers of Roxbury was arrested by state police Wednesday and charged with DWI after he was questioned by state police in Roxbury after he was allegedly seen pulling into the parking lot of a closed commercial establishment and then proceeding behind the building. Myers was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Roxbury Justice Court today.
Victoria L. Rossman of Stamford was arrested last week Monday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after state police questioned her as she was walking along state Route 10 in Harpersfield. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Harpersfield Justice Court on July 14.
