Area Police News: January 30, 2013
Nehemiah A. Clark, 33, of Arkville was arrested by state police on January 21 and charged with second-degree burglary.
Police report that they received the complaint of a burglary from a South Side Road, Margaretville resident who told them that someone had entered her home and taken a Panasonic mini-recorder and a Kindle Fire. The homeowner also told police that her computer’s surveillance camera had recorded the image of the burglar.
Upon reviewing the recording, police say they recognized Clark and that the stolen items were later recovered.
He was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail to await further court action.
Kristie L. Polomcean, 41, of Sidney Center was arrested by state police on January 22 and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after she was stopped for a traffic violation on Scotch Mountain Road in Delhi.
Polomcean was arraigned in Town of Delhi Justice Court and released to reappear on February 5 at 10 a.m.
Gregory M. Haggerty, 23, of Stamford was arrested by state police on January 25 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he was stopped for running a red light on Route 23 in Stamford.
Haggerty was arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court and released to reappear on January 28.
Christopher J. Pitera, 29, of Roxbury was arrested by state police on January 23 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he was stopped on South Street in Stamford for a traffic violation.
Pitera was arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court and released to reappear on January 26.
Michael J. Hoff, 19, of Middle Island was arrested by state police on January 27 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after the car in which he was a passenger was stopped on Route 28 in Andes for a traffic violation.
Police say they issued Hoff an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Andes Justice Court on February 21 at 5 p.m.
George P. Stratigos, 64, of Stamford was arrested by state police on January 22 and charged with DWI following a one-car property damage accident on Route 23 near Odell Lake Road in the Town of Harpersfield.
Police say they charged Stratigos with DWI after his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .14 percent. He was issued a ticket returnable in Harpersfield Court on February 25.
