Area Police News: January 22, 2014

Matthew J. Pardy, 37, of Hobart, was arrested by Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies on January 10 and charged with DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both misdemeanors.
Pardy was involved in a one-car motor vehicle accident with injury and subsequent investigation led to his arrest.
Pardy was transported to O’Connor Hospital for treatment and released from the hospital. He is scheduled to return to Meredith Town Court at a later date.
Natasha M. Jeanniton, 24, of Hamden was arrested on January 7 by state police and charged with one count of second-degree criminal impersonation after she allegedly told police that she was her sister after she was stopped on Route 10 in Delhi for speeding.
She was additionally charged with speeding, unlicensed operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
Jeanniton was arraigned in Town of Delhi Justice Court and released on $500 cash bail to await further court action on January 28 at 10 a.m.
Christopher R. Bracci, 21, of Delhi was arrested on January 8 and charged with DWI after a state trooper found his car parked on Hollister Hill Road in the Town of Delhi and stopped to investigate why the car was parked on the roadway.
Police say they charged Bracci when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .12 percent.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court at a later date.
Donna J. Powell, 49, of New York was arrested by state police on January 13 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after police stopped her car on Route 28 in Arkville. Police say Powell was known to them as a person whose license was suspended and they she had been instructed on several occasions not to drive.
She was issued an appearance ticket and released pending further court action.
Dale E. Kowatch, 23, of Margaretville was arrested and charged with felony DWI on January 17 following a motorcycle accident that happened on October 27 on Route 28 in Margaretville. The accident sent him to Albany Medical Center with broken ribs, water around the lungs and a broken collarbone.
Police say that a blood test taken at the time of the accident showed Kowatch’s blood alcohol level at .09 percent resulting in the DWI charge. He also faces charges of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed not reasonable and prudent, unlicensed operation and moving from lane unsafely.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on January 30 at 9 a.m.
Lisa A. Labumbard, 44, of Margaretville was arrested by state police on January 18 and charged with larceny after she allegedly stole a wallet containing $1,018 in currency from an office on Walnut Street in Margaretville.
Labumbard was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in Delhi in lieu of $1,500 cash bail.
Taunia A. Regan, 30, of Prattsville was arrested by state police on January 14 and charged with DWI drugs following one-car personal injury accident on Route 30 in Roxbury.
In addition, she was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed not reasonable and prudent moving from lane unsafely, failure to notify DMV of an address change and operating without ignition interlock.
She was treated at the scene for a head injury and then received further treatment at Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
She was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court.
Roxbury Constable Steve Williamson investigated the case for the state police who later assisted.
Christopher D. Braceros, 45, of Denver was arrested by state police on January 15 and charged with DWI following a traffic stop on Carr Road in Denver.
Police say Braceros was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Court on February 5 at 9 a.m.
Eric B. Muller, 32, of Stamford was arrested by state police on January 19 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Main Street in Stamford for a traffic violation. He was also charged with failure to yield the right of way, inadequate exhaust, no seatbelt, and refusal to submit to a blood test.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on February 11 at 6 p.m.
Michael McCann, 51, of Roxbury was traveling on Route 41, in the Town of Roxbury about 10 p.m. on Monday when he lost control his 1997 Ford Suburban, which flipped on its and wound up in the woods. Someone traveling to work spotted the truck the following morning. Roxbury Constable Steve Williamson was alerted and determined the owner of the vehicle. The driver reportedly was not injured and had walked home after the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
Jennifer Kaminski, 41, New York City was traveling north on New Kingston Mountain Road on her way to Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury. Constable Steve Williamson said she lost control of the car, which slid backward on the icy pavement and traveled over an embankment. The Margaretville Fire Department responded to the scene. Neither the driver or any passengers were hurt. There were no tickets issued.
