Area Police News: January 1, 2014

David J. Chairvoloti, 16, of Roxbury was arrested by state police on December 16 and charged with the ABC law violation of possession of alcohol by an underage person. Police say Chairvoloti told them that he found a 30 pack of beer next to the garbage cans at the Country Store in Roxbury and then buried his find in a snow bank with plans to dig it up later and consume it.
The plan went astray when two employees at Roxbury Central School witnesses the event and called state police.
Chairvoloti was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on January 8 at 7 p.m.
Gregory M. Meyer, 26, of East Meredith was arrested by state police on December 20 and faces a number of charges after he was stopped for speeding on Route 10 near Delhi.
Police say they charged Meyer with DWI, refusal to take a chemical blood test, speeding and driving an uninspected motor vehicle.
He was arraigned in Town of Delhi Justice Court where his license was suspended for refusing to take a chemical blood test. His license was surrendered to the court. He was released to reappear on January 17 for further court action.
Keith J. Laskowski, 50, of Stamford was arrested by state police on December 22 and faces several charges after he was stopped on Route 28 in Arkville.
Police say they charged Laskowski with speeding, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle without a required interlock device as the result of a previous DWI conviction.
Laskowski was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court on January 9 at 9 a.m.
