Area Police News: February 12, 2014

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a one-car property damage auto accident on February 4 in the Town of Delhi. Arron Anderson, 21, of Walton was operating a 2009 Hyundai, in a westerly direction on Scotch Mountain when he left the roadway to the right, over corrected and struck the embankment on the left side of the road. The operator then fled the scene of the accident. Anderson was later caught and issued traffic summonses for failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, parked on pavement, and speed not reasonable.
All the tickets are returnable to the Town of Delhi Court on February 18 at 9 a.m. The Delhi Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
Nilsa I. Dominguez, 36, of Grand Gorge was issued an appearance ticket on February 3 charging her with shoplifting. State police say they responded to a complaint from the Dollar General store in Margaretville and after interviewing the store manager they wrote Dominguez an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on February 13.
Chase T. Guernsey, 29, of Delhi faces a number of traffic charges after he was stopped on February 6 by state police on county Route 18 in Bloomville for an expired inspection sticker.
Police say they charged Guernsey with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle, and for having a cracked windshield.
The tickets are returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court.
