Area Police News: December 12, 2012
On Friday, Dec. 7, as part of an ongoing effort to identify and prosecute suspects involved in the trafficking of illicit drugs in Delaware County, members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two men for selling drugs in Downsville.
At approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, Deputies arrested Patrick Ladd, 29, and Walter Lewis II, 30, both former Delaware County residents currently living in Pennsylvania, after the two men allegedly sold 73 bags of heroin to a confidential informant under the supervision of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. The alleged drug deal and subsequent arrest took place in the parking lot of the Downsville Country Store.
Both men were arraigned at the Town of Colchester Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail each.
Zackary J. Burroughs, 24, of Stamford was arrested by state police on December 8 and charged with DWI after he was stopped for a traffic violation on county Route 30 in the Town of Harpersfield.
Police say they charged Burroughs when his blood alcohol allegedly tested .09 percent.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court on December 17 at 7 p.m.
Dylan F. Bates, 18, of Wading River was arrested by state police on December 8 and charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped on Sherwood’s Road in Delhi for speeding.
Bates was issued tickets returnable in Town of Delhi Justice Court on January 8 at 9 a.m.
Blaire D. Elderkin, 45, of Hobart was arrested by state police on December 3 and charged with one count of second-degree harassment and one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief following what police say was a domestic dispute with his son.
Elderkin was arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail to await further court action.
Aaron J. Scudder, 25, of Margaretville was arrested by state police on December 6 and charged with second- and third-degree rape following an indictment handed down by a Delaware County Grand Jury.
Police say the grand jury action was the result of an ongoing investigation.
Kathleen Denario of Stamford was arrested by state police on December 3 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal trespass after she allegedly stole $3,000 from a 58-year-old Stamford man using false pretenses. Police say Denario was additionally charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration when she allegedly refused to be processed at the time of her arrest.
She was arraigned in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail.
Ashlee R. Ostrander, 25, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on December 9 and charged with DWI after she was stopped on Route 23 in Grand Gorge for a traffic violation. Police say they charged Ostrander when her blood alcohol allegedly tested .15 percent. In addition to DWI she was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, having an expired inspection and having an obstructed license plate.
She was issued tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on December 19 at 9 a.m.
