Area Police News: August 1, 2012

On July 27, Delaware County Deputies investigated a motorcycle accident on Route 30 in the Town of Middletown. The operator was Zsolt J. Zilahy, 39, of Fleischmanns who was traveling north on Route 30 when he lost control and crashed into the guardrail. He was transported to Margaretville Hospital with minor injuries.
Deputies were assisted on the scene by Margaretville Fire Department, Roxbury EMS and Margaretville Hospital EMS. No tickets were issued.

Christopher J. Broskie, 19, of Lake Katrine, was arrested on July 27 by Shandaken Police and charged with DWI drugs after he was stopped by deputies when his vehicle struck a curb on Main Street in Phoenicia.
In addition to being charged with DWI drugs, he was also charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. Broskie was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court.

Joshua C. Klepeis, 17, of Tillson was arrested by Shandaken Police on July 27 after deputies stopped a car in which he was a passenger.
Klepeis was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of alcohol and unlawful possession of a controlled substance not in its original container. He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court.

Kyle J. Bush, 24, of Margaretville was arrested on July 23 and charged with one count of petit larceny and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after police responded to calls from two local homeowners complaining about a number of missing items. Police say Bush was arrested after the owner of a small business in Fleischmanns told police that Bush had sold him some of the missing items.
Bush was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on August 13.

Lisa M. Skala, 28, of Margaretville was arrested by state police on July 26 and charged with DWI after she was stopped on Route 28 in Arkville for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Skala when her blood alcohol level allegedly tested .16 percent. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on August 16.

Ryan Lapp, 21, of Harpersfield was arrested by state police on July 28 and charged with DWI after police checked his vehicle, which was parked on West Hubbell Hill Road in the Town of Middletown. Police say they found Lapp outside his vehicle and vomiting. He was charged when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .12 percent. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Middletown Justice Court on August 16.

James D. Beers, 24, of Davenport was arrested by state police on July 29 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Route 10 in the Town of Harpersfield for a traffic violation. Police say they charged Beers when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .08 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court on August 13.
