A Prattsville man faces a number of traffic charges following a high-speed chase Sunday that ended when he went off county Route 919 in Gilboa.
Roxbury Constable Steve Williamson reports that the chase, with speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour, began on Route 30 in Grand Gorge where he first tried to stop the vehicle operated by Jason Conklin, 37.
Williamson reports that after Conklin went off the road and into a field, he tried to flee the scene on foot.
After his arrest, Conklin was transported to Margaretville Hospital by the Grand Gorge ambulance where he was treated for unspecified injuries and released.
He was later arraigned in Town of Roxbury after getting tickets charging him with speeding, reckless driving, failure to comply with an order from a police officer, and failure signal.
He was released to reappear at a later date.
Timothy M. Kachnic, 22, of Thornwood was arrested by state police on April 5 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown for speeding.
Police say they charged Kachnic when his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .09 percent. He was issued a ticket returnable in Middletown Justice Court on April 23.
