Area Police News: April 18, 2012

Ryan M. Porter, 19, of Stamford was arrested by state police on April 10 and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and endangerment of property following a fight at the Country Store in Stamford. Police say Porter confronted another man at the Country Store and allegedly punched him in the face, breaking his nose, before fleeing the scene. Property in the store was damaged during the fight. Authorities say the incident may have been provoked over a woman.
Porter was later picked up by state police and arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court. He was released to reappear on April 23 at 7 p.m.

Christopher J. Craft, 20, of Stamford was arrested by state police on April 10 and faces a number of charges after he allegedly assaulted another man in a car in which they were both passengers causing the man to jump out of the moving car to get away.
Police say they charged Craft with criminal mischief, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child following the incident.
Craft was arrested at his home and arraigned in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court. He was ordered to be held in the county jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail pending further court action on April 26 at 7 p.m.

Amy Antonette, 35, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police on April 12 and charged with two counts of second-degree menacing and one count of second-degree harassment following what police say was a domestic dispute with her husband.
Police say Antonette had armed herself with a shotgun and that it had accidentally discharged when her father tried to unload the weapon.
Antonette was arraigned in Town of Middletown Court and released on her own recognizance to reappear in court at a later date.

Calixto Yanez, 52, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police on April 13 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he has stopped on Route 28 in the Town of Middletown for a traffic violation.
Yanez was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and released on $500 cash bail to reappear in court on April 25 for a hearing.

Jodi L. Dillman, 38, of Stamford was arrested by state police on April 11 on a bench warrant issued by the Town of Kortright Justice Court charging her with failure to appear on a previous charge.
She was arraigned, paid a fine of $255 and released.

Thomas Neff, 78, of Stamford was arrested by state police on April 11 and charged with DWAI after he was stopped on Harper Street in Stamford.
In addition to DWAI, Neff was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
He was arraigned in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court and released to reappear on April 23.

Christopher A. Porter, 28, of South Kortright was arrested by state police on April 12 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped on Main Street in Hobart for a traffic violation.
Porter was issued a summons returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on May 8 at 6 p.m.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a two-car property damage motor vehicle accident Sunday on county Route 37 in the Town of Middletown.

Peter Cella, 17, of Fleischmanns was backing out of a driveway onto county Route 37 as a vehicle operated by William Goodloe, 73, of Halcott Center was traveling northeast on the same road. Goodloe’s vehicle struck Cella’s vehicle and then went off the northwesterly shoulder of the roadway into the ditch and then back across the roadway onto the southeast shoulder of the roadway. Cella’s vehicle went sideways and stayed in the northeasterly lane of travel.
Cella was ticketed for unsafe backing onto a public highway. Goodloe was arrested for DWI. Goodloe was issued tickets for DWI and DWI above .08 percent. Goodloe and Cella will appear in Middletown Court on April 30.
