Area high school graduations are Friday and Saturday
Leslie Roselli will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2009 Andes Central School graduation ceremony on Friday, June 26. The celebration will be held at 7 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. Seven graduates will receive their diplomas.
ACS seniors Hattie Brown and Melody Grapes, who possess averages less than one percent apart, will serve as co-valedictorians of the Class of 2009.
Margaretville Central School will hold its annual commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The graduation celebration will be held outside on the front lawn, weather permitting. Thirty-four graduates make up the MCS Class of 2009.
Margaretville alumna Mar-jorie Miller will serve as this year’s graduation speaker. Kaitlin Buerge and Julia Brophy are the Class of 2009 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
Roxbury Central School will present diplomas to 19 graduates at its commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. Class of 1984 alumna and current faculty member Lisa Faraci will serve as this year’s keynote speaker. Faraci teaches pre-k at Roxbury.
Roxbury students Karly Bolger and Danyelle Greene are this year’s valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
The Onteora Central School will hold its annual commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. this Friday, June 26.
The festivities are planned to be held on the football field behind the Boiceville school campus, weather permitting. There are 155 graduates in the Class of 2009.
John Iannotti, a social studies teacher retiring from OCS this year, will be this year’s graduation speaker. Shandaken resident Enrica Rosato of Shandaken and Katerina Kariolis of West Hurley are the Class of 2009 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
