Applications due for Platte Clove Artists' Colony
Arkville — The Catskill Center is accepting applications for the 2014 Platte Clove Artist-in-Residence Program. Painters, writers, sculptors, photographers, and composers are invited to apply for this unique residency located at the Center’s pristine nature preserve in the Platte Clove, Town of Hunter, in Greene County.
The program runs from July through September and residencies typically last one week.
Participants stay in a rustic cabin in the Platte Clove Preserve, 208-acres highlighted by spectacular waterfalls and surrounded by high peaks. Hiking trails to Indian Head and Overlook mountains begin at the Preserve and the 60-foot Plattekill Falls is a short walk from the cabin.
Artists will be selected by a jury of representatives from a partnership of four organizations coordinating the residency: the Roxbury Arts Group, the West Kortright Centre, the Catskill Mountain Foundation, as well as the Catskill Center.
Artists in all mediums are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Friday, April 11.
