Advisor will address economic group

The Shandaken Economic Committee will be holding a public meeting on Monday, June 16 at 6 p.m. at the town hall. Certified business advisor Sam Kandal will be the guest speaker. Kandal works at the Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center. He has extensive education and practical experience in entrepreneurship and small business management, spearheads the outreach efforts in the Catskill Region and is the primary advisor responsible for clients within the Catskill Watershed.
In 2004 he was nominated by the New York State SBDC as Counselor of the Year, in 2005 he was the recipient of the New York State Business Advisor of the Year award and in 2006 received the prestigious ASBDC Star Performer award, a national honor. He is actively involved in the economic development community and served as chairman of the “Catskill Business Roundtable” sponsored by the Catskill Watershed Corpora-tion and has served on various committees. In his five-year tenure with the SBDC, he has counseled over 1,000 clients who have generated over $40,000,000 in economic impact and have in turn saved or created over 900 jobs.
