Aaron Neville & Quintet close festival in red-hot New Orleans style Saturday
Highmount — The 2010 Belleayre Music Festival wraps up in red-hot style when New Orleans’ favorite sons, Aaron Neville and his Quintet, featuring Charles Neville, hit the stage Saturday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m.
Aaron Neville’s velvety croon is as instantly recognizable as any voice in modern music. From his signature 1967 hit, “Tell It Like It Is,” to his chart-topping duets with Linda Ronstadt on “Don’t Know Much” and “All of My Life,” Aaron has enjoyed a remarkable career. He has collected 16 Grammy nominations and was twice named Best Male Singer in the Rolling Stone critics’ poll.
Charles Neville’s saxophone work spans virtually every musical genre and he has played with a who’s who of musical giants. Throughout their long solo careers and as members of the group that bears their family name, the Neville Brothers proudly carry the torch of their native New Orleans’ rich R&B legacy. The band’s tight live shows are the stuff of legend.
The Neville Brothers played Belleayre six years and thrilled the packed house from opening note to rousing finale.
