Helen Lehtonen

Helen M. Lehtonen, 97, formerly of Hurley, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingston where she received compassionate care from the nursing and support staff in her final days. She was an only child, born in Kelly’s Corner, to the late Eber and Neva McEwan Kelly. Her family moved to the Fleischmanns area where she spent her youth.

More Family Reunion Aug. 4 at Roxbury’s Gould Church

Roxbury’s Gould Church will host services for the More Family reunion on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 10:30 a.m. This “Service of Praise and Kirkin’ of the Tartan” is a special service led by members of the John More Association as they provide preacher, choir, organist, bagpipes, family banners and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The service is open to all.

Ed Perazone honored on 80th birthday

A crowd of family and friends gathered at the Roxbury Arts Group on Saturday afternoon to celebrate Ed Perazone’s 80th birthday. While many traveled from afar, it was all a surprise for Ed.
Ed is probably best known as one of the founding partners of Alta Log Homes and the engineering genius behind their distinctive designs.
