Jennifer McMurray of Margaretville has earned a spot on the Dean’s List at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in North Adams for the spring semester.


Fiedler graduates with associate's in criminal justice

William Gustave Fiedler III graduated on May 16 from North Country Community College in Saranac Lake. Billy received an associate’s degree in criminal justice with a GPA of 3.6.

Robert (Bob) Merritt, a former resident of New Kingston and Margaretville, has graduated from the U.S. Navy Great Lakes Recruit Training Center and is currently attending school for Master at Arms (security and law enforcement) training school in San Antonio, Texas.

Kory Ancona earned symposium invite

Margaretville Central School senior Kory Ancona became the first MCS student to participate in the 24th annual Upstate New York Junior Science and Humanities Research Symposium in Albany on March 30 and 31. The annual event brings together some of the best and brightest young minds from around the state; over 400 students from more than 40 schools between Westchester County and Western New York presented original scientific research at the symposium.


Barrett named to Dean's List

Adam Barrett, son of Thomas and Anne Barrett of Andes, has been placed on the Dean’s List for the Fall semester at Adirondack Community College in Queensbury.
Adam, who earned a grade point average of 3.2 or better, is enrolled in the adventure sports and leadership training program.
