Jones-Palluth engagement announced

Brian and Dorothy Jones of Hardenburgh have announced the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca to Nicholas Palluth of Keller, TX.
Nicholas and Rebecca met at Norwich University in Vermont were they both received their Masters in Architecture in 2012.
Rebecca and Nicholas are both presently employed in architecture firms in Fort Worth, TX where they will reside after their 2015 summer Catskill Mountain wedding.


Sanford-Cafaldo engagement announced


Kirstie Sanford, daughter of Edward and Kellie Sanford of Roxbury and Beth and Michael Smith of New Kingston, and Andrew Cafaldo, son of Michael Cafaldo and the late Darlene Cafaldo of Esopus, have announced their engagement.
The future bride is a graduate of Margaretville Central School and the University at Albany. She is employed as a staff accountant by Sedore & Company, CPAs in Poughkeepsie.


Kahlke-Beyea engagement announced


Jesse Beyea and Katelynn Kahlke are happy to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Katelynn is the daughter of Mary and Ken Kahlke of Central Valley. She graduated from Mercy College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and has completed her Master’s Degree in School Counseling at West Chester University in Pennsylvania.


Sean Gauntt named Presidential Scholar

Sean M. Gauntt of Arkville, a freshman majoring in engineering studies, was named a Presidential Scholar for the fall 2013 semester at Clarkson University.
Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.
Sean was the valedictorian of the Margaretville Central School Class of 2013 and is the son of Jim and Renee Gauntt, also of Arkville.


Colandos celebrate 65th anniversary

Longtime Catskill Mountain area residents Audrey and Joseph Colando celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Feb. 13.
They met after Joe had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, while Audrey was studying to become a nurse. Their happy marriage has giv­en them two sons: Robert of Pine Hill (married to Kathleen) and Joseph III of Florida (married to Holly), as well as four grandchildren, Nic­ole (and husband Sean) of California, Katie (and husband Mike) of Florida, Courtney (and husband John) of Fleischmanns, Casey (and wife Sara) of Texas. They also have eight great grand­children, Tristan, Grace, Quin, James, Callum, Liam, Avery, and Patrick.
Audrey and Joe lived on Kennedy Heights Road in Margaretville for decades. They recently relocated to DeLancey, but still have lots of friends and family in the Margaretville area including Kathleen and Robert Colando who live in Pine Hill, and Courtney and John Fairbairn who live in Fleischmanns.


Every day is Valentine's for the Barnharts of Bovina

Another Valentine’s Day has come and gone for Lillian and Robert Barnhart, but the day was just as special as every other day of the year.
“We don’t get each other presents on holidays,” said Lillian (Lilly) Barnhart, from her home in Bovina. “It feels good just to know we love one another every day.”


Fane-Oliveri engagement announced

Benjamin Oliveri of Grand Gorge and Alyssa Fane of Roxbury were engaged to be married on October 22.

Both are graduates of Roxbury Central School. The couple lives in Oneonta and plans to marry in the summer of 2015.


Deseree Schuman and Robert Furman engaged

David and Jennifer Schuman of Roxbury have announced the engagement of their daughter, Deseree Emily Schuman to Robert A. Furman, the son of Robin Wilke and the late Daniel Furman of Walton.

Deseree is a graduate of Roxbury Central School and SUNY Cobleskill. She is currently completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics with a Minor in Computer Information Technology at SUNY Oneonta.

She is the granddaughter of Emily Schuman and the late Andrew Schuman Jr. of Roxbury, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dimm of Lanoka Harbor, NJ.


Theodore Sanford

Corey and Jill Sanford of Los Angeles, CA are the parents of a son, Theodore Lawrence, born Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 3:18 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Theodore weighed seven pounds, six ounces and was 21 and three-quarter-inches long at birth.
Maternal grandparents are Larry and Norma Stewart of Arcadia, CA.

Paternal grandparents are Phyllis Sanford-Miner and Tom Miner of Shelburne Falls, MA and Catskill Mountain News owners Dick and Laurie Sanford of Bloomville.

Paternal great-grandfather is D. Britton Faunce of Bryn Mawr, PA.


Halcottsville was wedding site

Eric Fronckowiak and Danielle Ballard were married on September 11, 2011at Holy Innocents Church in Halcottsville with Most Rev. Francisco Betancourt and Rev. Dante Tarantini officiating.

Matron of honor was Milissa Bruno, best friend of the bride. Cindy Sabo, a close friend of the bride, was bridesmaid.

The best man was Cody Fronckowiak, son of the groom. Harley Jenkins, a close friend of the couple, was a groomsman.

Flower girl was Livia Fronckowiak, daughter of the couple. Ring bearer was Trevor Fronckowiak, nephew of the groom.
