A Denver woman escaped injury early last Wednesday afternoon when her northbound car veered off Route 30 just north of the intersection of county Route 38 in the Town of Middletown and plunged down a steep embankment, coming to rest in the woods, just off the 16th hole on the Hanah Country Inn golf course.
Elaine S. Lebowitz, 84, told state police that she was headed home when all of a sudden she struck the guardrail. Her car climbed over the rail and plunged over the bank, mowing down several small trees before coming to rest at the bottom of the hill.

Michael S. Norden, 49, of Phoenicia was arrested by Shandaken Police on February 11 and charged with DWI after he was stopped for speeding.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.

Carol A. Halpin, 70, of Greenville was arrested by state police on February 7 and charged with DWI drugs after she allegedly struck a telephone pole on Route 10 in the Village of Stamford and then drove away.

A Davenport man faces a number of charges after he allegedly attempted to evade state police who were trying to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation on January 23 in Hobart.
State police say they attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Wayne E. Swart, 35, after they noticed it proceeding northbound on Route 10 at 11:02 p.m. with a headlight out. Police say Swart turned off Route 10 onto several lawns and a rail bed and then onto Pine Street before Swart allegedly jumped out of the moving vehicle on the grounds of the Hobart Activity Center.

Kyle P. McLaughlin, 25, of Delhi was arrested by state police on January 22 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after police allegedly found a bottle containing Zanax pills in his car. Police say the discovery came after they stopped McLaughlin’s vehicle on Main Street in Delhi for speeding.
McLaughlin was issued appearance tickets returnable in Village of Delhi Justice Court on February 7 at 9 a.m.

Shandaken Police were called to a group residence on January 12 for a complaint of a resident allegedly making threats against others. Police responded and arrested Kevin Washington, 41, for one count of harassment and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing a crack pipe with cocaine residue.
Washington was issued appearance tickets and transported to Kingston Hospital for evaluation.

Joseph M. Goodnough, 19, of Warnerville was arrested by state police on January 5 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after he was stopped on Lake Street in Stamford for speeding. Goodnough was arraigned in Village of Stamford Justice Court and released to reappear on January 18 at 9 a.m.

Jason B. Briggs, 34, of Hobart was arrested by state police on January 2 and charged with two counts of second-degree aggravated harassment following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend during which he allegedly threatened to kill her.

Preston S. Lemaster, 24, of Gilboa was arrested by state police on December 31 and charged with DWI drugs after he was stopped on Route 30 in the Town of Roxbury for speeding.
Police say they found a small quantity of marijuana in Lemaster’s vehicle.
He was issued uniform traffic tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on January 11.

Four residents of Delaware and Otsego counties, including a Bovina resident, were arrested in a coordinated drug raid last Tuesday, Dec. 20 during which authorities say they seized more than $120,000 worth of oxycodone powder and $1,800 in cash.

Scott Burns, 45, of Lee Hollow Road in the Town of Bovina was arrested and charged by state police with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Jessica M. Krom, 18, of Hensonville, a student at ONC BOCES in Grand Gorge, was arrested by state police on December 14 and charged with disorderly conduct after she allegedly became enraged when another student didn’t want to speak to her.
Police say Krom followed the student to a classroom where she disrupted several classes with her screaming, cursing and demands to speak with the other student.
Krom was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on December 21.

Sabrina M. Brooks, 33, of Stone Ridge was arrested by Shandaken Police Department Deputies Sunday after deputies observed her vehicle in the ditch along Route 28 in Shandaken.
Deputies report that when they advised Brooks that she was being placed into custody she allegedly attempted to prevent the arrest. She was charged with aggravated DWI and resisting arrest.
Brooks was issued appearance tickets returnable in Shandaken Justice Court at a later date.
