Area Police News: April 7, 2010

Two Grand Gorge residents were arrested by state police last week Tuesday following a fight in an apartment building in that hamlet. Police say they charged Timothy J. Hughes, 48, with third-degree assault and Zachary A. George, 21, with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Both men were issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court on April 12.


Area Police News: March 31, 2010

State police arrested Amanda A. Cilento, 20, of Oliverea last week Monday on a warrant issued by the Town of Middletown Justice Court charging her with second-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Cilento was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. She is scheduled to reappear in Middletown Justice Court on April 14.


Area Police News: March 24, 2010

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the thefts of various road signs and equipment in the township of Bovina. Approximately 17 signs as well as signposts, brackets and road cones were taken. The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone who might have information pertaining to the incidents to contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 607 746-2336.


Area Police News: March 17, 2010

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department reported the arrest of Roxbury resident Dominic L. Cilento, 24, last Monday on a bench warrant out of the Town of Middletown Court for failure to pay a fine. He was released on recognizance under the condition that he would pay the court $100 by April 1.


Area Police News: March 10, 2010

Joseph D. Kinch, 19, of Delhi was arrested by state police Sunday and charged with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped at a stationary road check on Route 10 in the Town of Delhi. Kinch was issued appearance tickets returnable in Town of Delhi Court on April 6.


Area Police News: March 3, 2010

Jason E. Clinton, 25, of Walton faces a number of traffic charges after he was stopped Wednesday by state police on Delaware Street in Walton. Police say they charged Clinton with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, no passenger side brake light and no seat belt. Clinton was issued appearance tickets returnable in Walton Court on March 24.


Area Police News: Feb. 24, 2010

Delaware County Deputies arrested Michael H. Vogel, 17, of Delhi on February 12 on charges of second-degree burglary and petite larceny. It is alleged that Vogel entered and remained unlawfully in a residence in the Town of Delhi and stole approximately $120 worth of silver and gold colored coins. The coins were later exchanged at a local business. The coins were then recovered and secured as evidence with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. Vogel was arraigned in the Town of Bovina Justice Court and remanded to the county jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond.


Area Police News: Feb. 17, 2010

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jared Rice, 28, of Stamford on February 9, charging him with one count each of first-degree criminal sexual act, a class B felony and first-degree sexual abuse, also a class D felony. Rice is alleged to have had sexual contact with a child less than 11 years of age.


Area Police News: Feb. 10, 2010

Delaware County Sheriff’s arrested Lisa A. Schmidt, 33, of DeLancey on February 5. Schmidt was arrested on a warrant out of the Town of Stamford Court for the charge of second-degree aggravated harassment. Schmidt was arraigned at the Town of Stamford Court and released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m.


Area Police News: Feb. 3, 2010

State police arrested Roxbury resident Paul C. Garofolo, 34, last Monday and charged him with violating an order of protection by allegedly calling the complainant. He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and was arraigned before a Town of Roxbury judge and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond returnable on February 3.
