Daniel T. Maxim, 20, of Arkville was arrested by state police last week Tuesday following an alleged fight with his grandfather during which he did $1,000 worth of damage to his grandfather’s home.
State police say they charged Maxim with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

The Shandaken Police Department, along with members of the state police, report the arrest last Tuesday of Gari L. Gonzalez, 27, of Warwarsing. Gonzalez was arrested after police received a complaint that she allegedly stole property valued in excess of $6,000 from a landlord in Big Indian, where she previously lived. Gonzalez was charged with one count of felony grand larceny and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.

Lester C. Hall, 48, of Fleischmanns was arrested by state police Wednesday on charges of menacing a police officer. Police report that they were responding to a call from Hall’s girlfriend who told police that Hall was hallucinating and making threats against himself and others. Police say that when they tried to interview Hall he became enraged and approached a trooper with a hatchet. Police say they administered a burst of OC pepper spray from a distance of five feet after which Hall became compliant and dropped the hatchet. Following treatment by Margaretville Hospital EMS staff, Hall was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a serious personal injury motor vehicle accident on Nov. 28 that happened on state Highway 30 in the Town of Middletown. At approximately 10:13 p.m. a vehicle operated by Thomas V. Sand, 28, of Fleischmanns was traveling north on Route 30 when his vehicle veered off onto the northbound shoulder of the road striking the guardrails.  The vehicle continued along the guardrails and then re-crossed the roadway, striking trees on the southbound side of the roadway. Sand was transported to Margaretville Hospital before being transferred to Albany Medical Center.  The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

New York State Troopers arrested a Roxbury man on Tuesday, Dec. 1 in connection with a fire that destroyed a large camping trailer at Slauson’s Trailer Park near Roxbury late Saturday afternoon, November 28.
Arrested was Mike Mcafee, age 44. He was charged with one count of fifth-degree arson, a Class A misdemeanor.

Edward K. Heisinger, 47, of Roxbury was arrested by state police last week Wednesday and faces charges after he allegedly violated an order of protection that had been granted to his ex-girlfriend and their two children. Police say that while arresting Heisinger he became violent and had to be subdued. He now faces charges of resisting arrest and first-degree criminal contempt. He was arraigned and remanded to the county jail without bail to await further court action.

Daniel W. Koprowski, 40, of Oneonta, was arrested last Monday for a failure to pay a bench warrant fine to the Town of Middletown Court. He was sent to the Delaware County jail for 90 days or until he paid the $583.89 fine.

Chester W. Keyser, 33, of North Blenheim was arrested by state police last week Sunday and charged with DWI after he was stopped for speeding on South Gilboa Road in the Town of Gilboa.
Police say they charged Keyser with DWI when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .10 percent. He was also charged with speeding, loud exhaust and failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of a change of address. Keyser is scheduled to appear in Town of Gilboa Justice Court on Dec. 10 to answer the charges.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Raymond Hayes Jr., 18, of South Kortright last week Tuesday on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment. It is alleged that Hayes discharged a rifle in the direction of a residence striking the garage causing damage to the garage as well as a vehicle parked therein. Hayes was issued appearance tickets to appear later in Stamford Court.

Hobart resident Tisha M. Swart, 26, was arrested last Tuesday and charged with a DWI after police responded to a report of a property damage auto accident on Main Street in Hobart. Police say that Swart told them she hit the outdoor ice freezer with her vehicle, and they detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath, glassy eyes, impaired speech and poor motor coordination. Following standard field sobriety tests, Swart was arrested and transported to the Stamford police station, where she was issued uniform traffic tickets returnable to Stamford Court on Nov. 10.
