Harry Regan

Harry T. Regan, 96, a resident of Margaretville since 1982, died August 12, 2013 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville.

Harry was born June 25, 1917 in Yonkers, the son of Henry and Catherine (Towers) Regan. He never married. Harry served in the U.S. Army from April 29, 1941 until Oct. 31, 1945. He was a sergeant in the 134th Medical Regiment when he was discharged.

He was employed as an electrical engineer from 1957 until 1970 at the U.S. Navy Yard in New York. Later he was a librarian for the Rosenblatt law office in New York City where he did research work.


Joshua Carr

Joshua Carr
Joshua Lee Carr, 25, of Purcellville, VA passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 in Knoxville, MD.
Born at Andrews Air Force base, MD on December 13, 1987, he was the son of Renette Curry Carr of Keysville, VA and Paul Carr of Beaver Falls, PA, formerly of New York.

Joshua Carr was a wine sales representative with Service Distributing, Inc. He enjoyed participating in historical reenactments, was an avid swing dancer, and loved to play ultimate Frisbee football.


Joseph Carr

Joseph Lee Carr, 25, of Purcellville, VA passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 in Knoxville, MD.

Ruth Cashman

Ruth G. Cashman, 88, of Schoharie County, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday July 13, 2013 in Margaretville

After graduating from Augsburg College, Ruth worked for The Volunteers of America. When her job transferred her to New York City, she met her beloved husband, Edward who predeceased her.


Nancy Finch

Nancy Hubbell Finch, 82, of Roxbury passed away peacefully on July 2, 2013 with family at her side.
She was born Nancy Frances Hubbell on April 24 1931, a daughter of Ralph and Inez “Lillian” Archibald Hubbell. She married Richard Finch on September 30, 1950.

Nancy was a resident of Kelly Corners and Halcottsville for 75 years and moved to Roxbury in 2006. Nancy and Dick spent winters in Summerfield, FL in their retirement years. During the time she spent in Florida, Nancy’s home and heart always remained in her beloved Catskill Mountains.


LeRoy Winchell

 Decorated World War II veteran and past Fire Chief of the M.F. Whitney Hose Company, LeRoy L. “Roy” Winchell, 93, of Phoenicia passed away peacefully on July 3, 2013 at Kingston Hospital. 
He was born in Kingston on June 6, 1920 to the late Melvin and Harriet (Kain) Winchell.  He was a resident of Phoenicia for 78 years.


Gary Tyler

Gary Lee Tyler, 80, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away on June 29, 2013 after an extended illness.   
Gary was born in Roxbury to the late William and Evelyn Tyler on December 29, 1932.  After graduating from Roxbury Central in 1950, he was drafted to the United States Army where he served as a member of the Fourth Army Band as a trumpet player. He then attended Hartwick College where he earned a degree in business administration.  After relocating to South Florida in 1958, he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft until his retirement in 1992. 


Nathan Friedman

Nathan Friedman, Brooklyn born and bred, and just shy of his 91st birthday, passed away peacefully after a short illness in Sarasota, FL surrounded by family.
He was born July 9, 1922 and was married to Matilda (Chernotsky) for over 48 years until her death
in1998.

Nathan and Matilda raised their family in New Jersey. Nate owned a men’s clothing store in Westfield for many years. He had a devoted customer fan base from as far away as Sweden including one who wrote an article about Nathan and his store for The New York Times. Many customers remained friends for life.


Annalies Boehm

Mrs. Annalies Boehm, 93, formerly of Fleischmanns, passed away on June 19, 2013.
She was born August 7, 1919 in Abbensen, Germany.
Annalies was pre-deceased by her husband, Henry Boehm.

She is survived by three daughters, Inge Schroeck, Irmtraut Wrede, and Millie Fronckowiak; grandchildren, Diana Ballard, Elaine Faulkner, Carson and Lars Wrede, Brandy Colon, and Paul and Eric Boehm. Eight great grandchildren also survive. She will be greatly missed by all.
Calling hours were held at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville on Tuesday June 25, 2013 from 2 to 3 p.m.


Dorothy Carmicheal

Dorothy Carmichael, 85, a resident of Margaretville, died June 15, 2013 at Mountainside Residential Care Center where she has lived since April 10, 2012.

Dorothy was born January 7, 1928 at Long Island City, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Spick) Seeback. She married Douglas Carmichael Sr. on June 16, 1984 in Fleischmanns. He died April 4, 1998.

She is survived by two stepsons, Douglas Carmichael Jr. and Gordon Carmichael, and a stepdaughter, Donna Carmichael. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
