Lura Fisk

A requiem mass for Lura Grace Fisk of Lake Delaware, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 will take place on Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, Lake Delaware with Father Patrick Hunt presiding. Friends are invited to the church for visitation beginning at 9 a.m. till service time.


Erving Thompson

Committal services for Erving G. Thompson, who died March 19, 2008 will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at the Roxbury Cemetery, Roxbury, with military honors.


Ruth Tubbs

Ruth (Gross) Tubbs of Colonie died on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. Peter’s Hospital under the care of hospice.
She was born in Lincoln, NE, one of six children of the late Julius and Julia Gross.


Wanda Monteleone

 

Wanda Agnes Monteleone, 90, of Roxbury, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, where she had lived since June 18, 2003. She was born in Buffalo on May 3, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Tartak) Jaremi.

She married Leonard Monteleone in Brooklyn on February 1, 1941.


Amado Braceros

 

Amado “Sonny” Braceros, 67, of Denver, N.Y., died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. He was born in Brooklyn on September 1, 1940, the son of Amado and Julia (Dombroskas) Braceros.

He married Marie Taylor in Brooklyn on April 28, 1962.


Carl Franzen

 

Carl Franzen, 80, of Birch Creek Road in Pine Hill, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Albany Medical Center. He was born in Eckern Forde, Northern Germany on December 13, 1927, the son of the late Willi and Elle Pollnow Franzen.

For 30 years he was a baker for R & K in Brooklyn having retired in 1988.


Claire Shacklett

 

Claire Shacklett, 105, died peacefully Friday, May 9, 2008 at Mounainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville with her family at her side. She was born in Trier, Germany on February 15, 1903, the daughter of Adele and Ernst Apel.

Claire came to this country in 1924 and became a citizen in 1939, of which she was extremely proud.


Jeanette Boxer

A public unveiling of the gravestone to honor Jeanette Boxer, a former resident of Margaretville, will be held on Sunday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Congregation B’nai Israel Cemetery in Clovesville. The Boxer Family cordially invites friends to join in the unveiling.


Joseph Lindner Sr.

Joseph J. Lindner Sr., 72, formerly of Halcottsville and Roxbury, died at his residence Monday, May 5, 2008. He was born in Brooklyn on April 6, 1936, the son of Joseph C. and Elizabeth Lindner.


Coral Myers

Coral Myers, 74, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Mountainside Residential Care Center, where she had been a resident since November 20, 2007. She was born in East Rockaway on June 17, 1933, the daughter of Theodore Joseph and Florence (Warren) Schratwieser.
