Matthew Hartmann, 56, passed away, December 7, 2008 in Golden Acres, Arizona.
He was born March 21, 1952 in Far Rockaway, the son of Martin and Maryellen Hartmann.

Gerald R. Ackerley “Red,” 74, of Andes, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Mountainside Residential Care Center, Margaretville. He was born March 14, 1935 in Margaretville, the son of Raymond and Mildred (Close) Ackerley. He graduated from Andes Central School in 1954 and was a lifetime resident of Andes.

Margaret Slater Inge, 82, of Denver, N.Y. and Detroit, Mich., died Friday, May 1, 2009 at the home of her daughter where she had lived since September 2008. She was born July 26, 1926 in Milledgeville, Georgia, the daughter of Richard Peter and Essie Mae (Edwards) Slater.

Dorothy Brophy, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2009 surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born in the Bronx on Nov. 24, 1919, the daughter of Mabel and Walter Boon. She grew up in Mount Vernon with her five sisters and one brother.

Maureen E. Weidman, 62, of Grand Gorge, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Albany Medical Center, Albany. She was born Nov. 9, 1946, in Elmont, Long Island, the daughter of Daniel J. and Marian Kennelly O’Brien. She married Edward Weidman on April 13, 1969, in Elmont.

Virginia (Ruth) Hill, 86, of Margaretville, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, Margaretville. She was born April 10, 1923, in Big Indian, the daughter of Andrew and Virginia Bryant Thompson. She married Robert Hill on August 11, 1946. They were married for 63 years.

Helen E. Finch, 91, of Margaretville, passed away Wednesday. April 22, 2009 at Mountainside Residential Care Center, at Margaretville. She was born July 23, 1917, on the family farm in the Red Kill Valley, Bedell, the daughter of Carson and Edith (Kittle) Kelly. She married Clinton Finch on Sept. 17, 1944, at the United Methodist Church, Fleischmanns.

Elton L. “Al” Mattice, 82, of Oswegatchie Road. Palantine Bridge, died Thursday morning, April 16, 2009 at his home. Born on December 4, 1926 in the Town of Stamford, he was the son of Charles Raymond Mattice and Mary Alice Mackey Mattice. He was a graduate of Schenectady High School.

Hazel Acampa, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 15 2009 at her son’s home in Texas where she had made her home. She was born Oct. 15, 1922 in Montreal, daughter of the late Stephen and Louise Canadian Delisle.
