Roxbury gearing up for TOC festivities

Roxbury — Roxbury’s celebrated festival of “all the agreeable pursuits” of 1898 on September 4 will be packed into one fun-filled day of vintage baseball, children’s activities, hand crafts, plenty of vintage victuals, spectacular fireworks at dusk, and as always, period fashions.

Andes— Chace-Randall Gallery presents a late-summer exhibition: new works by Judith Lamb and Marie Vickerilla. The show will hang from August 13 to September 26. A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14 from 5-7 p.m.

In their tenure at MARK Dennis and Elaine helped shape programs and projects like the Margaretville Main Street Revitalization Project, HOME Repair and Homebuyer Assistance programs, and the development and construction of Mountain Laurel Gardens. They aided in the fundraising for the new pavilion while ushering in the Freshtown Supermarket.

There’s always something going on there to get attention. Whether it’s the hundreds of bright yellow rubber ducks thrown into the stream for a Rotary fund-raiser, or a crowd of bikers getting their pictures taken under Main Street’s most prominent feature, a giant statue of Davy Crockett. “What’s next?”


AFD tanker truck damaged during pool-filling episode

An Arkville Fire Department tanker truck was seriously damaged on Sunday evening, July 11 while it was being used by one of the department’s members to fill his swimming pool in Arkville.


Patti Austin, Scofield/Lovano Quartet close out Belleayre Jazz Series Weekend

Delhi — The Pathos Players, featuring well-known local actors Robert Gaffney, Reggie Brunson and Walter Putrycz, will present a one-act play in the historic ca. 1800 Frisbee Barn on Saturday, August 7 at 2 p.m. at the Delaware County Historical Society.
