Wellness Committee hosted breast health program

Margaretville — Nearly 50 community members attended a presentation on breast health presented by Samira Khera, MD, on October 8 at Mountainside Residential Care Center.

The program was part of the Marian Connell Wellness Education Series sponsored by the Wellness Committee of the Auxiliary for Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Center.


Woodstock Playhouse, Maverick Health get CWC loans

Margaretville — The Woodstock Playhouse will be purchased and refurbished, and a Boiceville building will be renovated to accommodate a medical clinic, thanks to low-interest loans provided by the Catskill Watershed Corporation (CWC).

The loans were approved on November 2 by the CWC Board of Directors.


Metnick returns to the helm for STS's "Little Murders"

After a seven-year hiatus, Margaretville’s Dennis Metnick returned to the Shandaken Theatrical Society this fall, and from the audience reaction opening night to his interpretation of the dark comedy “Little Murders,” most hope that he stays this time.

Terry Bergmann didn’t plan to become a karate instructor in the Catskill area. But at four-feet, eight-inches tall, Terry has accumulated a living room full of tournament trophies and run a successful martial arts school in Margaretville for more than 20 years.

"Sugar" on stage at RCS this weekend

The Roxbury Central School Drama Club will present the play “Sugar” for its fall drama production on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13 in the school’s cafetorium at 7 p.m. both evenings.
