The annual Herdman Reunion was held last Saturday, July 16 at the Pine Hill Lake with 30 people present. Spending the weekend at the George and Julia Brower home were their children, David Brower and friend, Katheryn of Gorham, Maine; Karen and Terry Wells of Ballston Spa and Linda and Roland Earls of Apopka, FL. Also their grandchildren who attended were Jamie and Amanda Wells and son, Brayden of Ballston Spa and Kelly Wells and friend, Ben of Ballston Spa.


Tour Woodchuck Lodge this weekend

Roxbury — The upcoming holiday weekend brings with it three opportunities to tour Woodchuck Lodge, the farmhouse where naturalist John Burroughs spent summers from 1910 to 1920.


Dance classes on tap at Roxbury

Roxbury — Patti Dell will resume teaching her popular tap-dance classes at The Roxbury Arts Center on September 11.

There will be 10 classes, ending on November 27, to account for two breaks in the schedule.


Designing Gardens with Flora of the American East author to sign books at Quarltere’s on September 11

Halcottsville — Carolyn Summers will be talking about and signing copies of her new book, Designing Gardens with Flora of the American East at Quarltere’s Garden and Marketplace on September 11, hosted by the Catskill Community Garden Club.


Fall workshops planned at RAG

Gene Cronk and his son, Eugene, participated in the tractor pull at the Delaware County Fair. Eugene placed fourth in the 10,500 class. Gene placed third in the 14,500 class and fifth in the jumbo class.
The highlight of the day was when Eugene was presented with the sportsmanship trophy.


Speed will boost RCS boys' soccer team

It’s been said that there are five Ss of sports performance; speed, stamina, strength, skill and spirit. Roxbury boys’ soccer coach Tom Faraci’s 2010 team is working hard, moving towards proficiency in all these areas. That could spell a sixth S on the soccer field this fall – success.


WIOX Roxbury radio officially begins transmitting
