Margaret Carmeli and daughter, Rebecca, spent the week with her parents, Tony and Ruth Carmeli. Rebecca attended the children’s studio art camp at the Andes Hunting Tavern Museum for the week.

They also attended the Delaware County Fair at Walton one evening.

It has been reported that Danny Underwood is doing well at Robinson Terrace but hasn’t as yet put any weight on his leg.

Roxbury — Three new writing workshops sponsored by Writers in the Mountains are scheduled in the upcoming months. Those interested in registering for classes may do so online at writersinthemountains.org or by calling 607 326-4802.

Roxbury —After a month of teamwork and planning, the Re-Store Design Challenge is coming to Roxbury this weekend. Three intrepid design teams have only two days to install their creative retail ventures in time to open at noon on August 21.

Nancy Finch attended a picnic gathering held Saturday, Aug. 14 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Standhart in South Gilboa.

It was a get-together of about 20 local people who spend the winter in Florida at Lake Weir Harbor Estates near Summerfield, Fla. The group enjoyed reminiscing and spending time with friends.

Roxbury — One of the most extraordinary vocal groups performing roots music today (they were named #1 a cappella group in the U.S. in 2007), Moira Smiley and VOCO, will be at The Roxbury Arts Group’s welcoming venue Old School Baptist Church located in Denver on Sunday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m.

Roxbury — In only two short weeks the Re-Store Design Challenge teams will bring tools, paint, ingenuity and other, more exotic artifacts, to create three fantastical retail “stores” on Main Street, Roxbury.

Jesse NeedhamRalph and Lori Needham of Roxbury held a celebration dinner recently in honor of their son Jesse who is home on leave from Fort Benning, GA.

Richard and Cynthia Herdegen of Vero Beach, Flordia are houseguests of Elton Ridge. Eugene and Wilma Bierne with the Herdegens and Elton, enjoyed dinner together Sunday at Hillside Manor, Kingston.

The service tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Old School Baptist Church in Halcottsville will not take place. However there is a possibility a service could be held in September.
