Local students earn NCOC honors

The following ONC BOCES, Northern Catskill Occupational Center students were named to the Principal’s List and Honor Roll for the third quarter of the 2008-2009 school year.


Grand Gorge FD hosts banquet

The Grand Gorge Hose Company No. 1 hosted its annual banquet at the firehouse on March 14. Over 60 people attended the event including members and guests from Stamford, Roxbury, Conesville and Prattsville.


Pilgrim Holiness Church marks two anniversaries

Historic church was built in 1908 and reconstructed in Grand Gorge 50 years ago

The Pilgrim Holiness Church in Grand Gorge commemorated the 50th anniversary of the reconstruction of its sanctuary building on Saturday with a day of celebratory activities, including a 10 a.m. service followed by lunch at the Grand Gorge Civic Center. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the original construction of the building in June 1908, which first served an Advent Christian congregation.


50th anniversary celebration planned at Pilgrim Holiness

Everyone is invited to join in a 50th anniversary celebration Saturday, June 7 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church on Route 23 in Grand Gorge to commemorate the first service held in the present building.
Services will be held at the church from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m., when former pastors will be presenting the history of the church including its construction and how the church was established.


Grand Gorge meetings planned for intersection, C&D station law

Will a construction and demolition transfer facility be permitted in Grand Gorge? And will the busy intersection of Routes 23 and 30 in that hamlet ever be re-engineered? At its monthly meeting last Monday night, the Roxbury Town Board scheduled two public meetings to discuss those very issues.
