Fleischmanns — The Jimmy DiGiacomo Auction to benefit the Community Christmas Project, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 4 p.m. at LaCabana Restaurant in Fleischmanns promises a lively evening for young and old.

Fleischmanns — Plans are underway to make this year’s Jimmy DiGiacomo Auction to benefit the Community Christmas Project a fun evening for everyone. The event will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, beginning at 4 p.m. and include both live and silent auctions and dinner and dancing at LaCabana Restaurant in Fleischmanns.


Fleischmanns Comprehensive Plan is focus of Oct. 22 meeting

Fleischmanns — The Village of Fleischmanns Comprehensive Plan Committee is seeking public input on Fleischmanns’ draft Comprehensive Plan. The public hearing on Oct. 22 will include a brief presentation on what a Comprehensive Plan is and highlight some of the key recommendations contained within the draft Comprehensive Plan.


Fleischmanns First hosts House Tours

Fleischmanns — Village residents will open the most interesting historic homes for tours and hosts an entire day of family fun and baseball on Sunday, Oct. 11 during “Fleischmanns First Floors Historic House & Garden Tour,” starting at 11 a.m.


Bnai Israel Sukkot services

Fleischmanns — For the first time in many years, Congregation Bnai Israel, Fleischmanns, will hold services for Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. Friday evening services will begin at 7 p.m.
The celebration of the bat mitzvah of Elia Tanzer will occur at Sabbath services on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 9 a.m.


Fleischmanns First opens "storied" homes to public tours on Oct. 11

Fleischmanns — Fleischmanns’ most interesting historic homes will be open to tour in “Fleischmanns First Floors Historic House & Garden Tour” on Sunday, Oct. 11 during the Columbus Day weekend. The Fleischmanns First team has gathered a harvest of family fun, including vintage baseball with the Mountain Athletic Club, a children’s activity tent, and plenty of festive ballpark food to enjoy all day in Fleischmanns’ historic Wagner Avenue Village Park. 


Congregation Bnai Israel's 90th anniversary celebrated

An enthusiastic audience of over 200 people celebrated Congregation Bnai Israel’s 90th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 6. The essence of the event was expressed in the plaque presented by Mayor David Morell on behalf of the Village of Fleischmanns:
“Presented in recognition of Congregation Bnai Israel’s founders, present members and future generations for their rich cultural contribution to the Village of Fleischmanns. We join you in celebrating your 90th anniversary as a respected asset to Fleischmanns and the Catskill community. As a historical site, the Bnai Israel synagogue is a treasured component of our national, state and local heritage.”


"The Case for Israel" plays in Fleischmanns

Fleischmanns — Congregation Bnai Israel will show the documentary film,“The Case for Israel,” based on the book by Alan Dershowitz on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. The film presents background information on the state of Israel, and deals with its problems and offers interviews with Israeli leaders.


Congregation Bnai Israel to mark 90th anniversary

Fleischmanns — Congregation Bnai Israel of Fleischmanns will celebrate its 90th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 2 p. m. with a gala program of history, song and dance.
Tim Mulvaney, master of ceremonies, David Schneiderman and June Meinstein will offer a chronology of events in the life of Congregation Bnai Israel and of Fleischmanns.


"Natural Collections" show opening at Zoom Gallery

Fleischmanns — Art Etcetera’s Zoom Gallery at 1033 Main Street in Fleischmanns will present a new exhibit, “Natural Collections,” paintings, drawings and collage inspired by nature by artist Diane Adzema. The exhibit will hang from September 5 through October 4 with an opening reception on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 1 to 5 p.m.
