Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Margetts Lodge.

Building on the success of last year’s Holiday Treasure Express campaign to boost holiday sales for local retailers, organizers are planning a kick-off parade and celebration in Margaretville for November 29.


Relay for Life fund-raiser Friday in Delhi

All cancer survivors are invited to celebrate their triumph over cancer by participating in an inspirational “Survivors’ Lap” to open the Relay For Life. The survivor ceremony begins at 6 p.m. on April 25 at the American Legion Field in Delhi.

Shandaken hammers out new building law; cell phone tower rules eased by town board

The Shandaken Town Board adopted a local law covering the administration and enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code following a public hearing that yielded little input from the audience.

The town’s new law was passed following public input on April 7. 


New spring schedule announced at eCenter

 

The Delaware County eCenter announces its spring schedule of classes.  New to the schedule are classes on the basic Principles of Adobe Photoshop taught by Fred Harris of Aleph & Co. of Delhi and an interactive business course “Delivering Excellent Customer Service,” led by Ellen Fauerbach of Denver.

A Spring Sporting Weekend at Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville from Friday, April 18 to Sunday, April 20 will include a two-day Hunter Safety Course as well “Women in the Outdoors” programming.
