The Blues Maneuver Band will take to the rails on the historic Delaware & Ulster Railroad in Arkvlle on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. for a slow-moving scenic train ride that everyone will enjoy.
Music, food, fun and a little romance play a part in this magical evening.

Arkville — The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development and the Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP) are hosting a public training on September 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Catskill Center to address the potential threat of an Asian Longhorned Beetle infestation in the Catskill Mountain Region.

Arkville — The Catskill Center welcomes the public to the First Annual Catskills Poetry Festival at The Erpf House in Arkville on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Award-winning poets from the Catskill Mountain Region will give performances of their poems depicting life in rural America, love and nature.

Arkville — The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development will lead the effort in pursuing a Scenic Byway designation for a 50-mile stretch of Route 28 in the Catskill Mountain Region.
A designation will stimulate local economies through tourism and recreation and open the door to federal and state moneys. The Central Catskills Collaborative, a group of seven communities along the Route 28 Corridor, recently contracted with The Catskill Center to guide the development of a Corridor Management Plan, a requirement in the Scenic Byway nomination process.

George Griffin of Arkville was the lucky winner of a Chevy Cobalt on August 8 when he scored a hole-in-one at the West Oneonta Fire Department Golf Tournament.
George was playing in a foursome with Nelson Delameter, Ralph Ackerley and Bill Blish when he scored the ace. He used a 6-iron on the 175-yard, par 3 ninth hole at the Woodhaven Golf Course in West Oneonta.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, the John Davey Jazz Quartet takes to the rails on the historic D&URR from 6:30-9 p.m. for a slow-moving scenic train ride that everyone will enjoy.

Arkville — The Catskill Center Erpf Gallery has announced its third gallery show of the season – “Jody Primoff, John Burroughs and Woodchuck Lodge” – featuring works by Roxbury artist and writer, Jody Primoff. 
The public is invited to attend the gallery opening on August 8 from 5-7 p.m. at the Erpf Gallery in Arkville.  The show runs through Oct. 3, with a lecture by Primoff on September 26 at 2 p.m. at the Catskill Center.

Detroit, MI — Chief Warrant Officer 4 Christopher D. Shultis, son of Douglas and Marietta Shultis of Arkville, retired on July 17 with 30 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard.
