Returning players, experience key for area boys' hoop teams

After graduating only one senior from last year’s squad, first-year head coach Dave Goodchild is looking to a strong core of returners to set the foundation for the Blue Devils squad this season.
“I think the biggest thing that we’ve got – there are four guys from last year, and we pretty much have all of our starters back from last year, so I think we just go on that experience,” Goodchild said.


DWI test results allowed in Andes fatal crash case

An Andes woman who was involved in a fatal accident last December appeared in Delaware County Court last week and sought to suppress results of a blood-alcohol test and statements she made following the accident. Christine Arnao, 45, is facing misdemeanor charges of aggravated DWI and an additional DWI charge from allegedly have a blood-alcohol content in excess of .18. She pleaded innocent to the charges in June.

Andes — The Community Storytelling Troupe (CST) played to a packed house Friday at The Hunting Tavern in Andes. Performers at Friday evening’s concert included: Tina Cawley, Adriel Grapes, Richard Grapes, Carol Johnson, Rebecca Kole, Courtney Sage, Rachel Sage and Janet Stoop.
