Andes boys star at South Kortright

With five Andes soccer players helping bolster their roster, the South Kortright Rams advanced to the finals of the Stamford Mayor’s Cup in soccer action last week.

The Rams walloped Gilboa, 10-1, in opening round action and then bested Schenevus, 5-2, to reach the finals.

Regional parcelizing is Roundtable topic

The Andes Roundtable will see the premiere of “Parcelizing the Catskills and ‘The Boiled Frog Syndrome,’” a documentary produced by Art Siegel of Walton, and Jack McShane of Andes Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Hunting Tavern on Main Street, Andes.

Andes — We’ve lost count of how many years Andes has had an August Community Day celebration. But we haven’t lost our sense of old-fashioned fun that will take place this year on Saturday, Aug. 14. It’s fun for returning Andes folks to greet old school chums and neighbors.

Andes— Chace-Randall Gallery presents a late-summer exhibition: new works by Judith Lamb and Marie Vickerilla. The show will hang from August 13 to September 26. A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14 from 5-7 p.m.
